In the end this is what I came up with I thought it was sleek well presented and actually looked quite proffessional

Sunday 3 September 2017

We spent a lot of time creating our content for the project and what this came down to was 10 statemnts that would serve as a sort of 10 commandments for us to live by as graphic designers

1. As A designer I will NEVER BE AFRAID TO STEP OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE
2. As A designer I will ALWAYS TEST THE BRIEF TO SEE HOW I CAN PUSH IT
3. As A designer I will NEVER WORK FOR THE EXPOSURE WITHOUT PAY
4. As A designer I will I WILL ALWAYS RESPECT THE POWER OF DESIGN
5. As A designer I will I WILL USE THE POWER OF DESIGN RESPONSIBLY
6. As A designer I will NEVER BE AFRAID TO PUSH BEND OR BREAK THE RULES
7. As A designer I will ALWAYS LOOK FOR NEW AND EXCITING PROJECTS
8. As A designer I will ACCEPT THE FACT THAT I SHALL NEVER STOP LEARNING
9. As A designer I will TRY TOO INTRODUCE MY PERSONALITY TO MY WORK
10. As A designer I will NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE COMIC SANS

Right from the start I knew I wanted to do something along the lines of a secret/ most wanted file. I started looking at most wanted posters and and old classified files to help me get an idea of the visual direction I wanted to go in.  Here are few examples of the stuff I was looking at. I Liked the idea of recreating that typriter feel in some way. I also like how everthing is very plain clean and simple I thought this could be something I could recreate.

CV

For my CV I didn't want to change much as I was very happy with my outcome from the last project. I even managed to get a design job using it. I think most of the reason I did badly was because I didn'y have much support work. So I decided too try and outline the process of I made the CV and what went into it.
Finally I Brought this into indesign and began experimenting with how this could interact with my body text. I decided upon this in the end just laying it over the top. I thought it looked most natural and really created the mood I was going for
Next I scanned this layout into photoshop and started to play around with it deleting the background then moving parts around, increasing the size of certain parts generally just improving the layout a little bit at a time. Here you see the layout I decided upon.
Next I Got a load of Newspapers and went to town cutting them up until I had loads of different letters in all shapes and sizes. Then I started moving them around on the page trying out loads of different combinations until I found one I liked. WHen I did I stuck it down on tracing paper to see how It could interact whith my columns of text. Below are images of this process

I Felt as if I was going in the right direction but it wasn't quite what I was going for. I started to look online for inspiration. I started looking at posters other people had made using old newspapers and there were a lot of different ideas for inspiration. Here is a selection of those. I also Started looking at ransom notes made out of cut up newspaper and thought that this might be an interesting direction as it would certainly add too the mood of mystery that I was going for.

Here You can see a continuation from my last post. I Started looking at the layout of old newspapers the grid systems how they are layed out I found it all quite interesting. I began trying to recreate this I set up different layouts and began playing around with how I could layout my body text in and headers in indesign. Below you can see a few examples of that.

Obviously for my repeat I needed a whole new direction so I started to think about the work daring. I knew I wanted to create something with a bit of mystery too it. As traveling can also be a wonderful mysterious thing. I started looking at old newspaper as I felt they can create this mood that I was going for. A news story from the past where? when? how? You see old newspaper you cant help but ask these questions.
